Beksan Sari Sumekar Dance is one of the traditional dance in Yogyakarta. Beksan Sari Sumekar Dance is the basis in the kinds of Yogyakarta Mataraman daughter dance. This dance describes the process of a girl who was practicing dancing from begniners to develop their ability.

 

If you are interested to learn this dance, you can join in UKM Swagayugama, located in the Gelanggang Mahasiswa UGM, especially for students at the University of Gadjah Mada. You can also learn it in dance studios in your area. 

 Beksan Sari Sumekar Dance is the first dance learned by the new members of Swagayugama. Dance performances are often done in the Sultan's palace, and accompanied by traditional musical UKM Swagayugama.
